Amazon Boat Expedition 6D/5N – Departure Every 15th & 30th

This Boat Expedion its an Amazon River Cruise done visiting areas bathed by the Amazon River and also the Rio Negro as these two regions have different Ecosystems, different flora and fauna.

This Boat tour its done on board a regional boat with private accommodations in rooms with beds, A/C, private bathroom and with all equipments necessary for the tour.

The first part of this tour it’s done exploring the South region of Manaus exploring regions as Mamori river and lake and also the Juma reserve which is located about 100 kilometers away from the city of Manaus. The South region its an area with wonderful flora that offers areas of flooded forest (igapó) which can be explored by usiing a motorized canoe and even paddling in small canoe going under the trees to spot animals as monkays, sloths and different species of birds of the region. There is also the high land forest to be used for the jungle trekking.

The second part of this Boat expedition its done exploring the Rio Negro region which is an area of beautiful landscapes and this region offers the chance of swimming with the dolphins and visiting an indigenous village and whatchiing their ritual (dancing).

 

Day 1: The pick up its at 8am and the group departure on a 20 minutes ride to the Ceasa port. From there, they are taken buy speed boat and will have chance to see the meeting of the Waters (junction of the Rio negro and the Solimões river). There is a stop at this place and the guest have opportunity for pictures, vídeos and explanation given by the tour guide and after this the group will continue crossing until the Vilage of Careiro from Where they are taken by Van for about an hour until the village of Araça getting there about 10:30am to 11am and the Boat will be waiting to begins the Expedition.

From the village of Araça, the boat will navigate for about 3 hours until the Juma Reserve getting there about 2:30pm – 3pm. Getting there the group will departure to on a motorized canoe for piranha fishing, bird and Dolphin watching returning to the main boat after watcig the sunset from the Middle of the lake.

After dinner the group departure by motorized canoe for the Cayman spoting and the guide using his hands will grab a small aligátor and will explain about this feared animal of the Amazonian rivers. There is na opportunity for each member of the group to touch it and get great photos of the animal.

Day 2: At 5:30am a canoe trip is done to watch the sunrise and to get a close up view of the forest waking up to a new day. At 7am breakfast is served and then at 8am a jungle walk starts and it goes up to 11:30am. During the walk, the guide explains valuable information about the forest. Much is learned about medicinal plants, spiders, trees and there is even a chance of seeing monkeys.


The afternoon activity starts at 2:30pm. It is the canoeing in the flooded forest and in the small channels. It is a great opportunity to see and learn about the flora and fauna of this fantastic Amazon jungle. After finishing this activity, the group will return to the main boat and they will move to another area which is the Lake Called Mira and they will spend the night there.

Day 3: If good Weather, they will do another early canoe trip for bird watching and Sunrise from this lake returning to the boat main boat about 6:30am. Breafast is served at 7am and about 7:45am they are going to visit local families (caboclos) and make a canoe trip through the flooded forest in the area searching for sloth and monkey. While the group does these activities, the boat will move and wait at another place meeting the group about 10am and tey will begins the Journey ending the first part of the boat expeditions and will reach the region of Iranduba which is in the area of the Amazon river and this third night will be spent at this place.

 

Day 4: These three days remaining will be done exploring the Rio Negro region going through places of beautiful landscapes. The region Where the night was spent its an area of flooded forest that stays flooded for 6 six months.

After breakfast the group are going for a short canoe trip in the region and this place its good for bird watcing and after fisnishing this activity, the group will continue navigating up stream on the Rio Negro. This Navigating through the Rio Negro takes about 3 to 4 hours until the place Where the first night will be spent. In the afternoon of this day about 3pm, the group will leave the boat by canoe for a reconnaissance tour in this this region to learn and see the difference between the South and north region and will return to the boat after seeing the sunset from the Middle of the river.

DAY 5: At 7am, breakfast is served and just after this, the group will departure for the jungle trekking as the forest here is different that the forest on the South region. The Jugnle trekking takes you up to 11:30am. Information about the forest, medicinal plants and jungle survival will be provided. This also includes how to find food and water under extreme conditions. Spiders, plants and insects can also be seen.​​​​​​​

At 12pm lunch will be served and customers will have the opportunity to rest afterwards, and while they are resting, the boat will go to another location and, arriving at this location, the guests will do the swim with the dolphins in their natural habitat (in the river). After this activity, the group are going to visit the monkey island and learn the reason and how the monkey island was created and the history of this area Where the monkey island. Is located (Ariaú). After visit this area, the group will return to the main boat and the activity its over on this day.

DAY 6: This is the last day of the Boat Expedition and after breakfast, the group are going to visit a local Community (Acajatuba Village) of this region and will learn about their simple and fantastic way of life. After visiting this local Community, the group will return to the main boat about 10:30am to 11am and will begins the Journey returning to Manaus, and will have lunch in movement ando n the way back, there is a stop to visit an indigenous village and watch their ritual (dancing), great chance for pictures and vídeos. From there the Journey will continue return to Manaus and the arrival time its about 4pm – 4:30pm. The tour ends when When the guest are taken back to their hotel or to the airport.

 

What to bring for your jungle tour:

Long pants, short pants, long sleeves shirt, t-shirts, Small daypack, sunglasses, insect repellent, rain coat, cap, hiking boots, Sandals, flashlight, Binoculars, swimming suit, Camera, batteries and charger (there is 110 volt electricity.
